Ailing

今天是英國的Remembrance Day
主要是紀念那些在世界大戰時犧牲自己性命的英國人。

難怪從這星期初開始我就一直看到很多人在左胸前別上紅色小紙花
當時還不明白到底用意在哪，原來那是一個紀念的標誌。

紅色小紙花象徵的是烈士們墳上長出的第一朵花，也就代表新的生命，新的開始，小紙花的英文是poppy，idea來自一首戰詩：

Their paper-thin red petals were the first signs of life and renewal, and in 1915 inspired Canadian doctor John McCrae to pen perhaps the most famous wartime poem:

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row....
